a very PHISHIN' new year!

When Phish is in town Kevin and I will be there.  Phish's New Years runs are always pretty amazing.  This year Phish decided not to do a fall tour so it was clear that we would be in for some pretty epic New Years shows. 

We went 4 nights in a row.  It was the absolutely incredible but so exhausting.  Kevin and I have decided we are getting too old to hang like we used to... sad but true.

Phish always does something amazing on New Years Eve.  Last year a ton of Broadway dancers danced to the song Meatstick on stage while Phish soared over the crowd in their hotdog from the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (this must sound so weird to someone who doesn't know Phish, haha).

This year a dozen people on the floor got hoisted up in the air and danced around.

These 4 shows brought my show count is now up to 25!  Can't wait for the next one!!!

GWAR

A couple weeks ago Kevin, Erika and I went to a GWAR concert at Irving Plaza.  We went purely for the entertainment factor... not the music... I just want to make that clear (I am not a heavy metal fan).

Who is GWAR you ask???  Well GWAR is a heavy metal band that got together in 1984... they dress up in elaborate sci-fi costumes and sing obscene lyrics... they often put on pretty graphic performances.

 I could not understand a single word that was said during the whole show... it just sounded like a bunch of screaming to me.  I guess it's probably good that I didn't understand any of the lyrics since they are supposed to be pretty inappropriate.  Wholesome right?

Well it was entertaining and a little scary, but being sprayed with fake blood was pretty cool.

Bottom line, the night was a blast and definitely a fun experience to have under my belt... I mean how many times do I get to pretend to be badass and get sprayed with fake blood???  But, once is enough for me.

Last Friday night (October 8) Kevin and I went to our first concert alone together in about 3 years.  We saw Moe. at the Beacon!  Funny thing is the last concert we saw alone together was also a Moe. concert.  It was really great to just have a fun Friday night date with my fiance:)

Moe. put on a GREAT show as usual. 

 I can't wait for my next fun date with the love of my life!!!

the wall

Last Wednesday night (October 6) I went to the most amazing concert that I will never ever forget.  It was an experience I think I am pretty lucky to have had.  Ingram, Kevin and I headed to MSG to see Rogers Waters (of Pink Floyd) play The Wall!!!  Now I will admit that I do not know Pink Floyd's music as well as some other people do but I know it well enough.  

I still can't believe how incredible the performance was.  They built the entire wall and then knocked it down... so crazy.  I will just let these pictures paint a picture for you...

corrine bailey rae.

Marissa and I traveled to Willamsburg last Tuesday night for a Corrine Bailey Rae concert. I hadn't ever really listened to her music before Marissa asked me to go with her. She was AMAZING!
