meet kaje and vader.

This past weekend Kevin and I went up to Lakeville to hang at home with my parents. Saturday was absolutely gorgeous! Kevin and my dad went off to play 18 holes of golf which ended up being only 12. While the boys were playing my mom and I ran errands, watched some ultimate frisbee and got yummy sandwiches for everyone. Saturday evening we watched the boys varsity lacrosse game under the lights... unfortunately Hotchkiss got destroyed by Salisbury, oh well. It is always nice and relaxing to be at home with my parents. I am so looking forward to many summer weekends in Lakeville with my whole family:)

I have to show these great pictures of Kaje and Vader. I got them with Sarah right after graduating college and then my parents adopted them. They LOVE living with my parents, especially in the summer at the mountain house when they can roam around in the woods.

Here is fattie Vader.
This is where he hides so Pula won't chase him.
Kaje is a skinny boy.
My dad took me out to the farm to gather some kale for dinner so we had to snap a couple shots. Me with no make-up is not a good idea.
My serious diet and workout plan starts TOMORROW... I promise!

hello kitty

Tuesdays are "girlie date nights" for Marissa, Claudia, Gabby and I. We all go to Marissa's apartment after work to cook dinner together and watch totally riveting TV. Since 90210, Melrose Place and Millionaire Matchmaker have all ended we have moved on to GLEE! If anyone reading this does not watch Glee then you are crazy. It is by far my favorite show on TV right now. I love all the singing... I wish more than anything that I could have a great singing voice (sick dance moves come in at a close second) but alas I do not... Kevin won't hesitate to tell you that my singing is a little sub par, hahaha he gets to listen to my "singing" way too often. Since I don't see the gift of song in my future I will continue to live vicariously through the cast of Glee.

For dinner we made turkey burgers and topped them with lettuce, tomato, caramelized onions and avocado. We also had broccoli and french fries, you can't have burgers without french fries!

Before cooking dinner we made funfetti cupcakes. They cooled while we cooked and ate dinner and then we decorated them as Hello Kitty! Kevin's brother and sister-in-law gave me a cupcake decorating kit for Christmas two years ago and I have been the queen of decorating cupcakes every since.

Check out these beauties!
I have to give a very special THANK YOU to Cyndi (Kevin's lovely mother) for sending me the cutest cupcake apron and oven mitts. I look so professional when I am baking now!

i miss NZ!!!

This week I got together with a couple friends I was abroad in New Zealand with way back in the spring of 2006. Dave came up from Atlanta to spend the week in NYC so Lauren, Beth, Dave and I got together for dinner on Wednesday night and drinks at Genesis on Friday night. I had the best time. We spent a majority of the time reminiscing about all the fun and crazy adventures we had in New Zealand. Here are some shots from Genesis that are just so typical for us. It was so fun to be together and I am totally dying for a New Zealand reunion IN New Zealand... a girl can dream right?

As usual Dave has to get a little weird. His weirdness is contagious.Typical pose for me and Dave.Work it Beth!

old outfit post.

So this outfit was from two weeks ago. I was pretty happy with the outfit but after looking at these shots I am not so sure. I have the shortest torso and I think this outfit just makes it look extra short and of course my thighs could not be any bigger, blah sorry I shouldn't complain... I am starting my gym routine tomorrow morning (and no this isn't the fifth week in a row I have said that, I promise). I have re-discovered these jeans in my closet which is very exciting - I tend to buy new things and ignore everything I already have - I like how the jeans make my legs look a little bit longer than they actually are because they are short short short.
Jeans: Citizens of Humanity
T-Shirt" H&M
Wedges: Urban Outfitters
Necklace: Vintage
Belt: Vintage

These pictures were taken at the Carl Shultz Park over on the East River near our apartment. It is a great park that I suspect will become my favorite spot to take outfit shots. There are two dog runs (one for the big dogs and one for the little dogs) that Kevin and I have to check out every time we are in the park. It is too funny to see so many shapes and sizes of dogs playing together - we always leave wanting a different type of dog.

P.S. What is up with my face in these pictures? I'm awkward.

auto show.

First I have to start off by saying that I am such a blog post slacker... it is hard to keep up, ok no it's not but I just always forget to do my posts and then they pile up so I have to do like 5 at a time. I am sure I will get the hang of regular blog posting soon, maybe.

Last weekend (April 3) Kevin and I went to the Auto Show at the Jacob Javits Center. The Jacob Javits Center is ENORMOUS, I couldn't believe how huge it was. It is so crazy to be in a space that big in New York City. There were billions of cars all over the place. It was pretty packed and such a mad house, I kept getting bumped into and stepped on - I know I am short but and I really that invisible? The large crowds definitely were a big test for Kevin and my patience but luckily we both survived, love intact:) Here are some of the photos we took.

We were allowed to get in some of the cars so we made sure to put Kevin in some of the smallest cars we could find.

I was so small compared to some of the trucks.

Oh look what is that in the wilderness?

Some of the cars were super badass... I hope Kevin doesn't expect one of these for his next birthday...

happy easter!

Today is easter. It was so beautiful out today, so warm and perfect. We went to Darren's apartment to have Easter lunch on the roof. The food was soooooo good (thank you Orla and Darren!!!).

I also baked some easter cupcakes:)

This sigh was outside our local deli... an educated cat?
