This past weekend Kevin and I went up to Lakeville to hang at home with my parents. Saturday was absolutely gorgeous! Kevin and my dad went off to play 18 holes of golf which ended up being only 12. While the boys were playing my mom and I ran errands, watched some ultimate frisbee and got yummy sandwiches for everyone. Saturday evening we watched the boys varsity lacrosse game under the lights... unfortunately Hotchkiss got destroyed by Salisbury, oh well. It is always nice and relaxing to be at home with my parents. I am so looking forward to many summer weekends in Lakeville with my whole family:)
I have to show these great pictures of Kaje and Vader. I got them with Sarah right after graduating college and then my parents adopted them. They LOVE living with my parents, especially in the summer at the mountain house when they can roam around in the woods.
Here is fattie Vader.
This is where he hides so Pula won't chase him.
Kaje is a skinny boy.
My dad took me out to the farm to gather some kale for dinner so we had to snap a couple shots. Me with no make-up is not a good idea.
My serious diet and workout plan starts TOMORROW... I promise!
Tuesdays are "girlie date nights" for Marissa, Claudia, Gabby and I. We all go to Marissa's apartment after work to cook dinner together and watch totally riveting TV. Since 90210, Melrose Place and Millionaire Matchmaker have all ended we have moved on to GLEE! If anyone reading this does not watch Glee then you are crazy. It is by far my favorite show on TV right now. I love all the singing... I wish more than anything that I could have a great singing voice (sick dance moves come in at a close second) but alas I do not... Kevin won't hesitate to tell you that my singing is a little sub par, hahaha he gets to listen to my "singing" way too often. Since I don't see the gift of song in my future I will continue to live vicariously through the cast of Glee.
For dinner we made turkey burgers and topped them with lettuce, tomato, caramelized onions and avocado. We also had broccoli and french fries, you can't have burgers without french fries!
Before cooking dinner we made funfetti cupcakes. They cooled while we cooked and ate dinner and then we decorated them as Hello Kitty! Kevin's brother and sister-in-law gave me a cupcake decorating kit for Christmas two years ago and I have been the queen of decorating cupcakes every since.
Check out these beauties!
I have to give a very special THANK YOU to Cyndi (Kevin's lovely mother) for sending me the cutest cupcake apron and oven mitts. I look so professional when I am baking now!
Yesterday Marissa, Claudia, Gabby and I went to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens to see the cherry blossoms in PEAK BLOOM! It was so beautiful and smelled amazing.
This week I got together with a couple friends I was abroad in New Zealand with way back in the spring of 2006. Dave came up from Atlanta to spend the week in NYC so Lauren, Beth, Dave and I got together for dinner on Wednesday night and drinks at Genesis on Friday night. I had the best time. We spent a majority of the time reminiscing about all the fun and crazy adventures we had in New Zealand. Here are some shots from Genesis that are just so typical for us. It was so fun to be together and I am totally dying for a New Zealand reunion IN New Zealand... a girl can dream right?
As usual Dave has to get a little weird. His weirdness is contagious.Typical pose for me and Dave.Work it Beth!
