love of my life

I couldn't think of anything to get Kevin for Valentine's Day this year, but then I thought I don't have to get him anything, there are plenty of other ways to show him how much I love him.  So I decided it would be the perfect time for me to participate in an amazing project that Jen's husband Kevin started for her last Valentine's Day.  The project, Love Of My Life, gives people all over the world an opportunity to proclaim their love to their special someone.  To participate all you have to do is print out the "Love of my Life" flyer, take a picture of it somewhere meaningful and then upload it to the website and show it to the love of your life.  Here is the photo that I uploaded for Kevin:)

I thought it was a special and unique way to show Kevin how much he means to me.  Kevin Andrew Fournie is the Love Of My Life!  I cannot wait for September 17, 2011 when we will become husband and wife:)

montana for christmas

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas.  This year I decided not to stay home with my family and instead to travel to the snowy land of Big Sky, Montana to spend the holiday with Kevin's Family.  The last time I spent Christmas with Kevin's family was in 2007 so it was about time I made the trip out there again.  This Christmas was extra special because we got to meet Henry (our nephew) for the very first time.  The trip was filled with many fires in the fireplace, the best breakfasts ever (thank you big Tom!), my first deep-fried turkey, skiing, yummy beer (and cheap beer too - NYC prices are so inflated), a professional photo shoot, hunting for a 14 foot Christmas tree in 3 feet of snow, snowshoeing for the first time, seeing a moose, seeing big horned sheep and elk, opening endless amounts of presents and lots of love.  I am really looking forward to my next trip out there.

Unfortunately I was a total loser and didn't take any photos.  I really need to step up my photo taking in 2011.  Here are a couple of the very few photos I did take.

a PHISH halloween

This past Sunday Kevin and I hopped in a rented car and drove to Atlantic City to see PHISH!!!  Phish is Kevin and my favorite band to go see live... ahhhhh they are amazing.  Last year we went to 7 shows!  This year we have only seen 3 but we are planning to go to see them 3 nights in a row at MSG for New Years.  

We stayed at Caesars right next to the Boardwalk Hall (the venue).  Amazing view!

It was so much fun to get dressed up in costume for the concert.  Kevin went as David the Gnome (anyone remember this Nickelodeon show?).  He even had his trusty friend Swift with him.

I dressed up as Peter Pan.  It was a repeat costume (I was Peter Pan in college) but it was a fun and easy costume to throw together.  The only thing I was missing was a dagger, oh well.

I made my hat, yeah that's right I made it:)  I used poster board to make the shape and then covered it in green fabric.  I used a red solo cup to make the feather.

Halloween is a very special Phish show because they play 3 sets and for the second set they always cover another band's album all the way through... in the past they have covered The Beatles, The Who, Talking Heads, The Velvet Underground and The Rolling Stones. This year they covered Little Feat's album Waiting for Columbus.  Though I am not familiar with Little Feat is was an awesome set complete with extra percussion and a horn section.  

Phish really raged the whole show.  I even got to hear my favorite song Harry Hood.  The show started at 8:15pm and we didn't leave until after 1:30am.  It was a long but totally out of this world night.  I am so happy I got the chance to see a Halloween show.  Kevin and I are both pretty sore after over 5 hours of dancing our butts off.  

 Now the countdown to December 30 (our next Phish show) begins...
